there is a very serious problem within the chirstian church and that problem is patrirachy or male authority over women ....there have been hundreds of stories of abuse of christian women who because of those misintepreted verses of women submit obey be silent that evil men claiming to be christina who justify their abusive actions because they can hide behind those verses and it is not limited to men being in authority over women and keeping them down but women have also been fooled by those verses they put down other women who do not submit obey be silent for instance one woman who is highly respected and revered in the southern baptist church. She has a website where she answers questions and teaches woman about God and all the rules a godly woman is to follow in order to please God. She strongly believes the scripture says that woman should not preach or pastor and cannot teach men ..To do so iin her eyes is a serious sin of which one needs to repent. in one podcast on youtube she was discussing if women should attend seminary. She allowed that women could if they did not take courses meant to prepare for preaching or pastoring. BUT HERE IS THE OUTRAGEOUS PART...........she went so far as to compare women taking pastor/preacher courses at seminary (though they may never preach or pastor) to those who study how to do abortions even though they may never perform one !!!! she basically called another Christian woman who wants to learn more about God and service to Him the same as someone who knows how to kill babies !!!!!!!!!!!!! she called them accomplices to murder!!!!!!!!!! Is that not outright slander or libel? and she further stated that seminaries who let women take those classes are sinners...........in a few words she judged and basically condemned all the christian men and women who are part of the religious institutions that turn out preachers, pastors and others who go into service for God as being ungodly sinners who need to repent if they allow women to take classes for pastors !!!!!!!!!! that is just an example of the unlimited extent of interpretational scope and reach of those few verses taken out of context that govern how women are to submit obey and be silent. the hundreds of rules on how to obey them range from benign to very strict and often contradict.

Historically, the Code of Hammurabi predates the Ten Commandments. My concern about the Ten Commandments being posted in all classrooms is that they will become so familiar as to be meaningless, much like reciting the Pledge of Allegiance or the ritual droning of the Lord's Prayer. The impact will be minimal. Besides that, the commandment against covetousness is anti-American as capitalism is built on covetousness and self-interest, not on love of God and neighbour.

I would have been happy if they had said, "The classroom MAY hang the Ten Commandments." Just stop getting in the way.

That’s a really good concise and quick breakdown. How can any Christian that has any beyond basic understanding of scripture take David French serious anymore? Or maybe that is the problem is that many professing Christians do not know how to apply Word of God to life. Lol...why dont i see more females in my career? It pays very well. You learn alot of skills that transfer to the home and other areas of life. I know why they dont. Its because they literally cant. Just the facts. Been in my field for over 2 decades and still have a couple fingers left when i count the women ive seen in my career. Most of them are Hispanic in ethnicity also. Females just want cushy high paying jobs because they feel entitled to them. Lol. This is a case of DeYoung, Ligon Duncan, et all becoming irrelevant, because all they do is preach to the choir, What good is good theology if all you do is talk to each other? I say this as a life long PCA member, joining as a young man during the days when the PCA had just broken from the PCUS and wasn’t even the PCA yet. That was the time of the battle for the Bible and liberalism getting a foothold in churches. Now, it’s come to complete fruition with the acceptance of perversion equal to Sodom. These guys sense they’re losing their captive audience and resent the appeal of the upstarts in Moscow, and instead of recognizing their blindspots, they attack the people who are simply trying to speak biblically to culture.

This was really interesting. I watched the whole thing. Philosophy has been intriguing to me since (as I recall) I first heard/read Francis Schaeffer (e.g. "How Shall We Then Live") explaining the influence of philosophers and philosophies on culture, etc. But..... As far as knowing Reality is concerned (other than a very interesting exercise of the mind, etc) how is studying/knowing philosophy (e.g. Plato) any better than just believing and studying the Bible, since the Bible is the foundation of all our absolute knowledge of God and all things? Thanks!
